MENNO KRANT |
| |
MENNO KRANT was born in 1950 in the Netherlands and later immigrated to Canada.
He began painting as a teenager, although he did not paint full time until the mid 90’s.
He actually lived in his car for a year and did his paintings beside Lake Ontario. There he would use the water and the sun to teach himself his unique painting technique.
KRANT uses an exuberant subject, repeatedly portraying a wild-eyed somewhat block-headed figure.
His rainbow colours and jewel-toned strokes bring a magical presence to his screaming faces. MENNO KRANT has become Canada’s most celebrated and sought after self-taught/ visionary artist.
His work is included in some of the most avant-garde collections in North America.
